FAQS on caring for your knit
Why is my knit pilling?
Pilling is a natural characteristic of high-quality natural fibres, especially softer yarns such as lambswool. It occurs through friction during wear and is not a sign of poor quality. A knit comb can be used to gently remove pills and refresh the surface of the garment.
How often should I wash my knitwear?
We recommend washing knitwear only when necessary. Natural fibres benefit from being aired between wears, helping preserve both shape and softness over time.
How should I wash my knitwear?
Gently hand wash in cool water using a wool-safe detergent. Avoid twisting or wringing the garment. Reshape whilst damp and dry flat away from direct heat or sunlight.
Can I machine wash my knitwear?
Unless specifically stated otherwise, we recommend avoiding machine washing to help preserve the integrity and longevity of the fibres.
How should I store my knitwear?
Store folded rather than hung to maintain shape. Cedar balls can be used to naturally protect fibres during storage.
